Welcome to the Cheadle Discovery and Visitor Centre’s website.
The Discovery Centre is located on the ground floor of Lulworth House, in the heart of Cheadle’s High Street opposite the historic market square. The building was formerly the town’s police station, and was also the hub for the town’s Pugin celebrations in 2012.
The centre is managed by the Cheadle Discovery Group, who are all volunteers and seek to keep the spirit, heritage and uniqueness of Cheadle alive.
In the Discovery Centre, there are free exhibitions all year round; and a permanent collection of items related to Augustus W.N. Pugin, the nineteenth century architect who built the town’s historic and outstanding St. Giles Catholic Church and made extensive alterations to Alton Towers.
